African American Newspaper Columnists

What Next? African Americans, the 2006 Vote and the Race Ahead

On November 13 in Stanford's Cubberley Auditorium a group of leading African American newspaper columnists discussed the impact of the 2006 elections on African Americans.

The participants in the discussion were Betty Bayé, Louisville Courier-Journal; Lewis Diuguid, Kansas City Star; Askia Muhammad, who writes for the Final Call and the Washington Informer; Les Payne, Newsday; and Rochelle Riley, Detroit Free Press. Derrick Jackson, of the Boston Globe, moderated the discussion. All are members of the Trotter Group, a national organization of African American newspaper columnists.
