James Bettinger James R. Bettinger is the director of the Knight Fellowships. A graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara, Bettinger is the former A.M. city editor of the San Jose Mercury News and former city editor of the Riverside Press-Enterprise. He was a Fellow at Stanford in 1982-83, and was Deputy Director from 1989-2000.

Dawn E. Garcia Dawn E. Garcia is the deputy director. A graduate of Stanford University and the University of Oregon, Garcia is the former assistant managing editor at the San Jose Mercury News. She worked as an editor and reporter at California newspapers for 18 years. She was a Fellow at Stanford in 1991-92.

Diana Jansons-Quihuis Diana Jansons-Quihuis is the administrative manager. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Jansons-Quihuis has worked at the University of Toronto, the University of British Columbia in faculty affairs, and Stanford Law School as the Executive Assistant to the Dean, and most recently Administrative Director of the Constitutional Law Center.

Lisa K. Stotlar Lisa K. Stotlar is the fellowships selection and services manager. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts and Minnesota, Stotlar has been an administrator and manager in student services for over ten years.

Barbara L. Meyers Barbara L. Meyers is the events and communication coordinator. A graduate of Harvard and Columbia universities, Meyers has had a long career as a senior administrator, manager and entrepreneur.

Amy E. Vorro Amy E. Vorro is the administrative associate. She earned her undergraduate degree in English from New York University and her Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Vorro has a background in publishing, poetry and has been an administrator for two years.

Richard A. Levitt Richard A. Levitt is the computer technologist. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Levitts' career has included software development, networking, and storage technologies with experience in desktop, server, and mainframe computing.

Kit Miller Kit Miller is the Language and Culture Coach for the International Fellows. She works with the fellows on English questions, conversation, presentations, and writing. A graduate of San Francisco State's Teaching English master's program, Miller has taught for five years. She was a former news photographer.

Elisabeth Rubinfien Elisabeth Rubinfien is the Knight Fellowships seminar planner. A graduate of Pomona College and Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Rubinfien worked overseas as a reporter for the Wall Street Journal and later as an editor at the San Jose Mercury News. She was a Fellow at Stanford in 1994-1995.
